A Healthy Daily Skincare Routine

Skincare 1 Edit

Having a healthy daily skincare routine is important if you’re wanting consistent results. Washing your face only once every few days, or only using wipes to remove makeup at the end of the day isn’t enough to guarantee healthy and glowing skin. There are definitely a lot of products out there to try but just remember, everything depends on your skin type. I have dry to normal skin so the following products and actions work for me.

My morning skincare routine consists of:

1. Washing my face with a cleanser

I use the Eve Lom Morning Time Cleaner daily. It’s a lovely soothing balm that also removes any extra makeup from the night before. I put it on in circular motions, leave it on for 2-3 minutes and then wash if off with warm water.

2. Exfoliating

Once a week, I use a mild exfoliator to remove any dead skin from my face. My exfoliator of choice is the Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator from the Body Shop, which is very light and creamy, and so I use it in conjunction with my Clarisonic Mia 2 device. A clarisonic brush deeply cleanses the skin up to 6 times better than just using your hands. For more information, click here.

3. Putting on a mask

Also once a week, but on an alternating day to using my exfoliator, I put on a mask. I use the Eve Lom Rescue Mask. After leaving it on for 15-20 minutes, you remove with a warm damp cloth. It leaves skin feeling absolutely refreshed and rejuvenated. It’s just one of those extra products that you can add to your skin care regime to really give your complexion a boost!

4. Moisturising

Moisturising is the icing on the cake! I like to use a really heavy moisturiser as my daily moisturiser and so I use the Eve Lom TLC Cream. Whenever I put this cream on, I feel my skin is instantly hydrated and gives me a lovely glow. I feel that light daytime moisturisers just sit on my face and don’t really sink in. Thats why I prefer to use night time or intense hydrating moisturisers during the day AND night time.

My night time skincare routine consists of:

1. Cleansing

Removing your makeup at the end of the day and cleansing your skin is really important. I’m sure you can understand that sleeping in your makeup can be detrimental to your skin! Especially if you’re doing it every night. The Eve Lom Cleanser was described by UK Vogue as “probably the best cleanser in the world”, and I’m sticking by it! I use this every night to remove my makeup and to cleanse the skin.

2. Using a serum

I use rose-hip oil as a serum. There are a lot of expensive serums out there, however I feel that rose-hip oil has the same benefits and is definitely the cheaper option. A few drops does the trick and works for dry-normal skin, but definitely stay away from it if you have oily skin!!

 3. Moisturising

I finish off the day with applying the same moisturiser that I use during the day, my Eve Lom TLC cream.

Would you recommend getting a Clarisonic brush? I have looked into them for awhile and can’t decide if it’s worth the money

I would definitely recommend one! I noticed a difference in my skin after using the brush for only a week. It is made to be used everyday (and I did use it everyday for a while) however, I think that can be overdoing it a little (at least for my skin) and so I dropped it back to once a week and I’m still getting results. Hope this helps!
