How To Enjoy The Perfect Morning

Pink Roses

Having the perfect morning can be a bit of a struggle. I’m sure everyone has had “one of those mornings” before. Here are some tips to insure you get out the door and on your way to work in the best mood possible!

1. Wake up to a nice alarm

Waking up to the sound of EEE EEE EEE really doesn’t have to happen. The sound jolts you awake and makes you dread getting up. Why not wake up to peaceful bell ringing or a relaxing song? You’ll feel ten times better, I promise. And if you struggle to awake in the mornings, set the alarm to start soft and then gradually become louder until you switch it off!

2. StretchesĀ

First, try not to check your phone when you immediately get up. Give your body and brain a chance to wake without being inundated with the stresses of the world. Before checking your phone, try and do some stretches to ease your body out of sleep mode. Some general ones like standing legs straight and touching your toes for 20-30 seconds is good as well as sitting cross-legged on the floor and trying to bow your forehead to the floor. Find whatever works for you. Yoga poses are also great.

3. Prepare breakfast the night before

This can be as simple as making sure everything has a place in the kitchen and is easily accessible. For example, when making your cup of coffee, have your coffee and sugar sitting right by the coffee machine. Keep the bread by the toaster. It’s the little things šŸ™‚

4. Wake up to a tidy house/room.Ā

All it takes is a maximum of 15 minutes of cleaning up the night before. Make sure the dishes from the day before are washed, that everything that has a place has been put away and hasn’t been left lying around. I do this every night before sleep and I always feel 10 times better waking up and seeing a tidy bedroom than one with clothes everywhere and makeup lying open on the table.

5. Exercise

I totally understand that weekday mornings can be hard enough without adding in exercise, and that most 9-5’ers do their exercise after work. But that being said, if you can manage to get up extra early to fit in exercise then go you! If it’s a bit much to do on weekdays, definitely exercise in the mornings on the weekends. It gives you such a boost!

6. Play some music as you get ready

If you live with other housemates, then play music with headphones through your iPod andĀ dance around to your hearts content.

7. Have “go to” outfits.Ā

We’ve all had theĀ “don’t have anything to wear” days. That is why it’s important to have some “go to” outfits that you know will always work for the office (or whatever job you may have). If you’re feeling creative, snap shots of yourself in these outfits and make a look book out of them!
