Why Black and Grey Are Never Boring

Look, I get it; as minimalists it can seem to many people that we only have all the boring colours at our disposal. But what they don’t see is that by only having a few colours to choose from, we get to focus on something far more important – the silhouette of our clothing.

Silhouettes rule, and here’s why…

By keeping the colours of your clothing simple, you can play around with the shapes of your clothing so much more! This is because playing around with colours/patterns as well as shapes can overwhelm the outfit more often than not. By keeping to plain colours, shapes become an important aspect on your outfit – basically it’s what makes an outfit minimalist in aesthetic!

But what are some great shape combos to work with?

Glad you asked. Here are some classic minimalist combos to play around with:

1. Oversized jumper & pencil skirt

2. Loose crop top & flared skirt

3. Boyfriend shirt & boyfriend jeans

4. The shapeless dress & leather jacket

5. Culottes & baggy t-shirt

6. Pencil skirt & wrap crop top

Wearing: Lock & Key Clothing dress, Mango leather jacket, Wayne Cooper Heels
