Why You Should Create A Minimalist Wardrobe

Why minimal wardrobe

Minimalist living can be applied to all different areas of life from fashion, design, travel, food, music and art, to thought processes like mindfulness. You might find that you already adapt some form of minimalism already in one, or more, of those areas.

The question on many peoples minds is: why should I create a minimalist lifestyle?

For the intents of this post, and because it’s relevant to this blog, I’m going to focus on minimalist wardrobes. Why should you want to create a minimalist wardrobe?

Minimalism can be boiled down to another word, simplicity. Hearing the word ‘simplicity’ usually evokes a lot of positive feelings. Why is this? Maybe because simplicity makes things easy, and who doesn’t like easy?

Now creating a minimalist wardrobe is different for everyone. Some people may have just ten items in their wardrobe, and others fifty, and that’s okay. Minimalism is about finding a comfortable balance where you don’t feel overwhelmed by your belongings, but you also don’t feel a hindrance from lack of items.

It may seem contradictory to some, but having a minimalist wardrobe means having more freedom. It means only keeping the clothes that you absolutely love to wear, and getting rid of the items that just don’t bring you pure joy.

There is a common statistic out there, that you only wear 20% of your wardrobe 80% of the time. This is because you are choosing the wear the items that make you feel fabulous. So there’s only one thing left to do.

Find out what’s in your 20%. There lies all the answers.

Because life is too short to wear bad clothes.
