3 Ways To Stay Chic In The Cold

With winter now here in the UK, the question as to how to adapt my style to the cold (and I mean 5-degrees-during-the-day-kind-of-cold) weather has been a topic I’ve been putting off for a while now.

The reality is that I was way past my comfort zone several degrees ago and I’ve been slowly learning, through other Australian expats who’ve lived here far longer than I, how to adapt to the colder weather than will arrive in a month or so.

Here are three items you need to stay chic in the cold this winter:

1. Wrap coat

My wrap coat has kept me toasty warm these past couple of months and I’m looking forward to it continuing to keep me warm through January and February, simply by adding a thermal layer underneath my sweater. Purchasing a wrap coat that is 100% wool is the key to warmth. Plus, it’ll be soft to the touch as well!

2. Thick scarfs

Scarfs can be so cheap to purchase and as such can recreate an outfit in an instant! 100% cashmere, wool or cotton are fantastic for warmth. UNIQLO stocks great looking scarfs in various sizes and materials.

3. Knee-high leather boots

Practical and chic, these will get you through the whole of winter time. Choose leather for durability.
