Bonjour from little old Paris! I’ve been lucky enough to have spent the last 5 days or so in Paris, and I’ve still got over a week of exploring to go!
Paris has been the perfect opportunity to bring out my Burberry trench coat. I believe the trench coat is a wardrobe basic that every women must have, and they can be found in every price imaginable. They will work perfectly on the weekend thrown over practically anything, and will also be handy during office hours.
However, it doesn’t matter if you’re trench coat is from Burberry or Witchery, there are 5 elements that must be considered so that you find your perfect trench.
Outline
The double breasted design flatters all shapes.
Fit
A trench should have an overall fitted appearance but should still have enough room to allow you to move. Another important fit rule is that the buttons should never gape.
Length
All trench coats vary in length and depending on your height, each coat will be a different length on everyone. However, the perfect length is between 2 inches above the knee and mid knee.
Material
Water-proof nylons are the best as well as cottons.
Details
Deep pockets are quite handy for cold hands and are a design element from WWI, when Burberry designed trench coats for the army.
