Winter Weapon: The Blanket Scarf
My new best friend is the blanket scarf.
It is currently on my “wardrobe essential” list as it can be styled in many different ways other than a over-sized scarf, the most popular being as a poncho/cape. The blanket scarf also works well as a shawl. Totally inexpensive, this mere, but rather large, chunk of material can transform a look considerably (and keep you way warmer than you ever thought possible!).
To achieve a poncho or cape style, simply wrap the scarf evenly around your neck and then let it hang down over the front of your body, then belt it around your waist. You can see how I used the above scarf as a poncho here.
To use it as a shawl, simply let the scarf drape over your shoulders and arms, like a kimono.
And to achieve the over-sized scarf look, as above, simply wrap the scarf a couple of times around your neck and then throw the longest side over your shoulder!
Simple and chic.
