Minimalist style, IKEA, gorgeous architecture… these are some of the reasons I wanted to visit Stockholm, and I discovered so many other reasons to love it while I was there.

I adore when, through unexpected events, you get a totally different experience to what you originally thought you would get when traveling somewhere new!

On this trip, I just so happened to glimpse the King and Queen of Sweden, riding in a carriage down a street, as it was the King’s 70th birthday! I witnessed a massive bonfire on the banks of Gamla Stan (Old Town) because of Walpurgis Day (May Day) and a semi-famous Swedish musician breakfasted on the table next to me.

Just the fact that the Swedes have a specific word for drinking coffee and eating pastries (fika) makes me want to go back again very soon.

xx
