MP – Esperanza Spalding

Esperanza Spalding is an amazing jazz bassist and vocalist and one of my top 3 favourite artists of all time! She is the first jazz musician to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Although considered a jazz musician, her music encompasses many genres including soul, r&b, latin as well as jazz.
Her fourth studio album entitled “Radio Music Society” is my absolute favourite. As well as featuring her own compositions, the album also includes arrangements of other tunes including Michael Jackson’s “ I Can’t Help It”. Check out the links below!

In fact I like her so much that tomorrow night I will be performing a tribute show to Esperanza Spalding at the Ellington Jazz Club in Perth.

Anea Duratovic and Ashley de Neef present ESPERANZAGANZA: A Tribute to the Music of Esperanza Spalding, will feature a 10 piece band and will encompass songs from Spalding’s last three studio albums.
