Musings On Style

I have always loved to read. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t! Packing up all my books and storing them away before I left for Berlin last year was one of the hardest tasks, as I have always been so used to having all my favourite books around me – ready to pick up when I had a spare moment to relax and read. It took a whole day, and the help of my mum and boyfriend, to pack them all away nicely and put them into storage.

So for the past year, I have started my lovely book collection all over again. Here are my favourite books of the moment:

Always Pack A Party Dress – Amanda Brooks

I love this book, as it’s not quite a memoir but not quite a “how-to” book either, but filled with quirky life stories in fashion. As a blogger, it’s inspired me in my choice of content for this blog, as well as encouraging me to pursue my blogging goals. My favorite stories from the book are those from Amanda’s early days about finding her ‘style’.

Love x Style x Life – Garance Dore

Garance Dore’s blog and store are just amazing, and so when it was announced she was releasing a book as well, I was super SUPER excited. And when it was released, I wasn’t let down. Full of quirky fashion advice as well as beautiful pictures and stunning illustrations drawn by Garance herself, this book is a must have even if its just to flick through the pages to inspire you before you get dressed in the morning!

The Woman I Wanted To Be – Diana Von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg’s life has always seemed exciting to me, just from reading snippets here and there in magazines and books about her life. After reading her book, I still feel the same. Her life has been a roller-coaster ride of excitement and joy. If I have even half her luck, I’ll be a very happy lady!

Pretty Honest – Sali Hughes

Full of practical beauty advice, this book has been my  replacement for Amazing Face by Zoe Foster that I had to leave back in Perth. It has helped me come up with a healthier skin routine as well as sharing a few beauty secrets as well. She shares what brands are best for what, which has been a huge help when buying new products. A must read to bring up your beauty product awareness.

Berlin – Cee Cee

A collection of the best places to visit in Berlin and the surroudning area, this coffee table book is filled with beautuful photographs and gives you all the “insider” information on where to visit in Berlin. From restaurants, parks, hotels and cafes, this book is a must have for those planning a unique visit to Berlin. Flicking through this book makes me miss living there.

What’s your favourite style book?
