One In, One Out

It’s easy for items to pile up, I totally get it! That’s why I have something called the “one in, one out” rule.

You’ve probably figured it out already, it’s pretty self-explanatory; when I buy a new clothing item, I have to get rid of one item in my wardrobe. Whether that be to charity, or perhaps putting it in the bin if it’s beyond repair, one item must go.

It’s how I keep my wardrobe “minimalist”. For a more detailed post on the benefits of minimalism, check out my post ‘The Benefits of  a Minimalist Wardrobe”.  However here are just a quick few so you get the gist!

1. It’s environmentally friendly

2. I save money by only investing in quality items

3. I don’t need as much storage space

4. I’ve gained a better sense of style, and of what I look and feel great in

5. I’ve gained mountains of time not having to constantly be figuring out what I’m to wear each day

At the end of the day, I have less stress in my life because of the minimalist lifestyle I lead. I not only apply this concept of minimalism to my wardrobe, but also to my belonging as well.

Leading a minimalist lifestyle allows me to focus on what I value most – spending quality time with my friends and family, and basically living a life constantly in awe of what’s around me. Appreciating the small things in life is what makes me truly happy, and leading a minimalist lifestyle allows me to do that more often.

If any of this sounds appealing to you, then I hope you consider putting the motions in step to creating your own minimalist lifestyle. I know you won’t regret it.
